Estwing hammers have been precision-made in the U.S. since 1923. Founded by Ernest O. Estwing, the brand has long been associated with impeccable quality and dedication to the needs of workers in fields from deconstruction to geology. The astronauts of Apollo 11 even used Estwing hammers on the moon! The family company has expanded the line of good looking, well-made whacking and prying tools all the while staying true to its roots: the original trustworthy designs are still on offer, and production is still done in Rockford, Illinois.

These traditional claw hammers have been made since the early days of Estwing. Their distinctive stacked leather handles give good grip and absorb impact and vibration (think: stacked leather heels), letting you keep your focus on your work. The head and shaft are a single piece of forged tool steel. This incredibly strong and beautiful design guarantees you'll never have to worry about cracking handles or loose (or flying!) heads. The face and shaft are highly polished and well balanced for clean, accurate work. The stacked leather handle is held together from below by a steel baseplate and two heavy rivets. When the time comes after many years of love and use, the handle leather can be replaced, varnished and re-riveted to keep your hammer in full swing for future generations.
