You probably know Mark Twain as the quintessential American author and humorist. But you might not know that he also held patent #121,992 for "an Improvement in Adjustable and Detachable Straps for Garments." That's right: an improvement for suspenders. 

We've come a long way since then, though, and it's hard to see how Twain could improve these heavy-duty suspenders from the Swedish industrial clothing company Blaklader.
