Genzo Hamono Satsuki Shears
Our beautiful garden scissors are produced by Genzo Hamono Manufacturing Co. in Japan's Niigata prefecture. Their Satsuki shears are designed to make accurate cuts, great for pruning buds and small branches. We find them perfect for harvesting flowers (even from woody stemmed plants like azalea) and the deft cutting in bonsai upkeep. The sharp point on the blades allows for very close work in small spaces. The handle is designed with a slightly wider angled interior gap, allowing the shear to open and close with an easier motion of the finger tips, making cutting more efficient and more ergonomic.
As their tiny tree-treatment credentials require, these Satsuki shears are well forged and very sharp, with a protective soft steel coating and a strong blade that holds its edge even through rough material. The long handles can handle strain and add leverage. The jaws fit smartly together, for very clean accurate work that does minimal damage to the plant. A beautiful tool for beautiful work!
